Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Monegro mobile application ("Monegro" or the "App"), operated by Code Colonel ("Code Colonel", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using Monegro, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Description of service

Monegro is a personal & social finance management application that lets you track expenses and income, set budgets, split bills with friends and groups, and optionally auto-import transactions from bank SMS. Monegro is offered on the following tiers:

• Free: unlimited manual expense and income tracking, up to 2 active groups, custom categories, and basic multi-device sync, at no cost.
• Pro (₹199 / month): adds SMS auto-import, advanced analytics and reports, CSV data export, up to 20 active groups, and priority support.
• Gold (₹1,999 / year): includes everything in Pro, plus unlimited groups, receipt scanning, and offline mode.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features on any tier at our discretion, and will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes in advance.

2. Eligibility & account responsibilities

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Monegro account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate account information and to notify us promptly at codecolonel@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Subscription terms

Paid subscriptions (Pro and Gold) are billed in advance on a recurring basis — monthly for Pro and annually for Gold — through our payment processors, Cashfree Payments and PayU, in line with the Reserve Bank of India's e-mandate framework for recurring digital payments. Unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period, subscriptions automatically renew for a further period of the same length, at the then-current price. Before each auto-renewal debit, we (or our payment processor) will send you an advance notification, as required under applicable RBI rules for recurring payments.

You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from Settings → Subscription inside the app, or by emailing codecolonel@gmail.com — cancelling takes no more steps than subscribing did, and we do not charge a cancellation fee. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access to paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. Cancelling a subscription does not retroactively refund the current billing period — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details on refund eligibility.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Monegro for any unlawful purpose or to process fraudulent transactions;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's normal operation;
• Use the group, chat, or money-transfer features to harass or defraud other users;
• Circumvent subscription limits through automated means or shared accounts.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Intellectual property

Monegro, including its name, logo, design, and underlying software, is the property of Code Colonel. Your financial entries and content remain yours; by using the App, you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the App's features (such as syncing, analytics, and group splitting).

6. Disclaimers

Monegro is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. Monegro is a budgeting and tracking tool — it does not provide financial, tax, or investment advice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Code Colonel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Monegro, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or errors in expense calculations. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using Monegro and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, subject to our data retention and deletion practices described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Grievance redressal

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address your concerns about Monegro:

We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours of receipt and aim to resolve it within 30 days. This grievance mechanism is in addition to, and does not limit, your right to approach a consumer forum or any other competent authority.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Monegro shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Delhi, India, without prejudice to any right you have as a consumer to approach a consumer forum with jurisdiction over your place of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, including to reflect changes in applicable Indian law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Monegro after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
